From the recording Back Seat Window
"My Prayer For You" is a tender and deeply encouraging song that expresses one of life's greatest gifts—the desire to speak hope, blessing, and love over someone else's journey. It is a heartfelt reminder that some of the most meaningful expressions of love are not found in grand gestures, but in the quiet prayers we offer for those we cherish.
At its core, the song is about selfless love. Rather than focusing on the singer's own desires, "My Prayer For You" turns its attention outward, offering words of comfort, strength, and encouragement. Its message speaks of wishing peace during difficult seasons, joy in moments of celebration, and unwavering hope when the road ahead seems uncertain. It reflects the universal desire to see those we love flourish and find purpose in their lives.
Lyrics
Ooh
[Verse]
I hope that your skies stay open and your spirit stays strong
And every heartbeat finds where it belongs
And when you're standing there with tomorrow in view
I hope you follow what feels honest and true
And if one dream fades before (another takes hold)
I hope your faith keeps burning through the cold
When the night falls down, let your hope be the light all the while
May your heart stay true, may your heart stay true
[Chorus]
May your tomorrow hold everything you're reaching to embrace
May hope outgrow the fears you face
May every burden fit the strength that's in your soul
And as you're finding all the places you were born to go
I hope you always know there's someone cheering as you grow
Yeah, that's my prayer for you
[Verse]
May your heart stay open when the road runs long,
And may you remember where your roots belong.
May mercy shape the words and the choices you make,
Leaving every soul stronger in your wake.
When life brings unexpected turns, let faith become your guide,
And let compassion be the legacy you leave behind.
At the ending of each day, (if one truth carries through)
Yeah, if one thing carries
[Chorus ]
May your tomorrow hold everything you're reaching to embrace
May hope outgrow the fears you face
May every burden fit the strength that's in your soul
And as you're finding all the places you were born to go
I hope you always know there's someone cheering as you grow
Yeah, that's my prayer for you
Yeah, yeah
[Chorus]
May your tomorrow hold everything you're reaching to embrace
May hope outgrow the fears you face
May every burden fit the strength that's in your soul
[Harmony]
And as you're finding all the places you were born to go
I hope you always know there's someone cheering as you grow
Yeah, that's my prayer for you (That’s my prayer for you)
[Outro]
This is my prayer for you (This is my prayer for you)
May hope outgrow the fears you face
This is my prayer for you (This is my prayer for you)
